Rotary steerable, directional-drilling systems increased rate of penetration (ROP) and saved more than 100 days of rig time when used to drill complex 3D well-paths in the 12(1/4)-in and 8(1/2)-in hole sections of Jotun field development wells, compared to conventional directional-drilling systems.

Competing Recombinant Technologies for Environmental Innovation: Extending Arthur’s Model of Lock-in Abstract: This article presents a model of sequential decisions about investments in environmentally dirty and clean technologies, which extends the path-dependence framework of Arthur (1989).
