Russia hopes to benefit from new sources of investment

The five so-called RRICS economies-consisting of Hraz.il, Russia, India, China, and South Africa-have agreed to establish a development bank with an initial capital of S50 bn and with a reserve capital of $100 bn. Thc new body will help to finance projects in the live member-countries. It is hoped that this process will begin before the end of 2015. Russia is likely to ask the bank to support a number of oil and gas projects.
