The ABerian MLP Index

In 2006, Dallas-based Alerian launched the Alerian MLP Index (NYSE: AMZ) to provide investors and corporate management teams with an unbiased, comprehensive benchmark for the performance of the energy master limited partnership universe. The index is a composite of the 50 most prominent energy MLPs, calculated using a float-adjusted, market capitalization-weighted method and disseminated by the New York Stock Exchange in real time.
