The brainchild of Aubrey McClendon, American Energy Appalachia Holdings LLC, Oklahoma City, is separating from its parent operating company American Energy Partners LP and will change its name to Ascent Resources LLC. The transition includes its two subsidiaries—American Energy-Marcellus LLC and American Energy-Utica LLC—which were combined under the Appalachia umbrella in December 2014.
