Novomet has manufactured a size 3 submersible pumping unit (ESP), all elements of which from the pump to the extension cable were designed by the specialists of the company. At present, there is no similar equipment of such a small diameter worldwide. The ac converter-fed motor having the outer diameter 81 mm and efficiency factor 88.6 percent is used as the unit drive. It seems unreasonable to use a classic asynchronous machine in the unit of this size due to the extremely low efficiency factor and significantly longer motor.
