Krasnoyarsk Scientists Reveal a New Oilfield APG Utilization Technology

A mobile unit for on-the-spot utilization of associated petroleum gas (APG) has been designed by a joint team of scientists from the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology SB RAS (Krasnoyarsk), engineers of Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Plant (Krasmash) and experts from Vankorneft (Rosneffs subsidiary). The unit uses catalysts to separate APG into liquid fraction and natural gas. The resulting hydrocarbon liquid is injected directly into the field pipeline and transported along with the oil. Currently, large stationary facilities are required to implement this operation.
