Leah Costello may pronounce the "t" in Bon Mot Book Club, but don't be misled, the sold-out Michael Lewis talk in February at Calgary's Fairmont Palliser Hotel was a high-end cultural event. "And hey, we're in the West after all," she tells the audience, by way of justification. Seeing that high-profile speakers such as Lewis, Malcolm Gladwell or Dick Cheney seldom venture out west, Costello launched the Bon Mot Book Club in her hometown of Vancouver in 2010. The following year, it expanded to Calgary with founding support from notable Calgarians such ARC Resources Ltd.'s chief executive officer John Dielwart, Cavendish Investing's chairman and president Dick Bonnycastle and others.
