Aligning interests

The holy grail of executive compensation, for many shareholders at least, is linking compensation to corporate performance, but Canada's oil and gas giants seem to not have that target in their crosshairs-yet. Global Governance Advisors (GGA) has developed a web-based tool that plots the CEOs of Canada's 60 largest public companies on a graph, allowing users to select from seven performance criteria -including shareholder return, return on assets, return on equity and net income growth-to see how pay correlated to the company's performance for the year.
