A number of ships had to be diverted away from the Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), Malaysia, late in August 2016 following an oil spill at a container terminal. An estimated 60 metric tons (440 barrels) of bunker oil fouled the terminal waters and coated the hulls of several vessels that were present at the time of the spill.
