摘要

The Hartley Bay Gitga'at First Nation is suing British Columbia Ferry Services Inc.(BC Ferries) over continuing pollution from the wreck of the MV Queen of the North, which sank two years ago in Wright Sound, about 110 kilometers (68 miles) south of Prince Rupert,British Columbia,Canada. The vessel was passing through Wright Sound, part of the Inside Passage that connects Alaska (USA),British Columbia, and Washington (USA),when it struck Gil Island on 22 March 2006 and sank about one hour later. The Hartley Bay community came to the assistance of passengers and crew, rescuing 99 of 101 on board the vessel at the time of the sinking. The remaining two passengers were never found.
