摘要

The combustion enthalpy of diosgenin was determined by oxygen-bomb calorimetry. The standard mole combustion enthalpy and the standard mole formation enthalpy have been calculated to be. 16098.68 and -528.52 kJ mol(-1), respectively. Fusion enthalpy and melting temperature for diosgenin were also measured to be -34.43 kJ mol(-1) and 212.33 degrees C, respectively, according to differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) data. These studies can provide useful thermodynamic data for this compound.
