In the production of sanitaryware mixes, the drying process plays a fundamental role. In fact, at the end of the casting stage, the ceramic part often has a big and complex shape and contains a residual humidity percentage (10-12 percent) which has to be eliminated before the material is fired. The percentage of residual water remains in the moulded object, then traditional casting or plaster moulds techniques are used or even with the more modern technologies making use of resin casting moulds with a medium (0.4 - 0.5 N/mm~2) or high pressure up to 2 N/mm2. these parameters do not change even in modern casting technologies adopted for producing tiles with a large thickness.
