New Synthetic Approach to Phenylmethanesulfonamide Derivatives on the Basis of Pheeyl-N-(2,2,2-trichloroethylidene)-methanesulfonamide

The reaction of N,N-dichlorophenylmelhanesulfonamide with trichloroelhylene gave a new representative of highly electrophilic N-sulfonyl-substituted polyhalogenaled aldehyde imines, phenyl-N-(2,2,2-tri-chloroethylidene)methanesulfonamide. High reactivity of the product was demonstrated by alkylation of toluene, anisole, thiophene, and 2-chlorothiophene.
