Pursuant to its policy of encouraging scientific research by awarding two prizes on a biannual basis(First Prize KD 5000,Second Prize KD 3000),the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries(OAPEC)is pleased to announce that the research topic selected for the"OAPEC Award for Scientific Research for the Year 2008"is:With the rise in world concern regarding climate change and its causes,and the lack of economic alternatives to fossil fuels especially in the important transport sector,increasing attention has been directed to the reduction of CO2 emission and its accumulation in the atmosphere.
