In August 2010, Freight rates for crude oil for tanker size (230-280 thousand deadweight tons dwt ), leaving Middle Eastern ports to the East decreased by 10.3% (6 points) to 52 points on the World Scale* (WS). Similarly Freight rates for crude oil for tanker size (270-285 thousand deadweight tons dwt), leaving Middle Eastern ports to the West, went down by 8.9% (4 points) to 41 points on the World Scale* (WS).
