摘要

Physical and numerical analysis of metal flow through pre-chamber dies during extrusion of solid sections with different wall thickness were carried out. The plasticine was utilised in physical modelling and FE method (FEM) was used in numerical calculations of the extrusion process. The main aim of this research was to understand how pre-chamber geometry affects the metal flow in the case of solid sections with different wall thickness. The results of investigations confirmed the beneficial influence of certain pre-chamber configurations on the uniformity of metal flow and consequently on the metal exit speed.
