Modelling of the pipes extrusion on the mandrel.

The modelling ability of pipes-extrusion, with use of piercing mandrel, is presented. Therefor the visualpasticity, as a method for physical simulation, and a packet basing on the method of finished elements were used. A modification of the extrusion process, by substitution of the flat die with a convex one, which lowered the extrusion power and changed the flow of metal in the deformation-zone, was proposed. The different character of metal-flow through the convex dies was experimentally confirmed; that process was model-led numerically. The results of numerical modelling showed good compatibility with the results of laboratory experiments.
