The Rubber Manufacturers Association's mid-year tire shipment forecast shows total U.S. tire shipments are projected to grow slightly in 2016. Passenger vehicle original equipment tires are expected to see only a very slight increase, while replacement passenger tires are projected to decrease. The RMA sees only a 0.1% increase in original equipment tire shipments this year over the 49.7 million units shipped in 2015. Replacement passenger tires are expected to experience a 0.6% decline this year to 205 million units.
