摘要

There are a number of global mega-trends affecting the tire industry. Rising fuel costs, a wide range of legislation, and increased public attention to energy and the environment continue to encourage the pursuit of environmentally responsible tires. These demands require further expansion of the tire "magic" triangle comprising fuel efficiency, traction and treadwear. In addition to, and in some cases as a result of, further expanding the "magic" triangle, a number of manufacturing challenges need to be addressed. These manufacturing challenges include both productivity and VOC emissions.
