Chinese car market to surpass last year's record sales

Vehicle sales in China more than doubled in the first quarter of this year, maintaining the growth trend sparked off last year by an explosion of private demand. Official figures for the first quarter put total car sales, including SUVs, at 409,161, an increase of 109 per cent on the same period last year, according to Automotive Resources Asia.
