ENRC BRINGS ALUMINA SMELTER SECOND PHASE LAUNCH FORWARD TO Q4, 2009

Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC) has brought the commissioning of Phase Two of its aluminum smelter in Kazakhstan's Pavlodar region forward to the fourth quarter of 2009, Almaz Ibragimov, president of Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant (KEZ), the project's operating company, said at a meeting with regional administration officials on January 19. The second phase of the plant was not originally due to be commissioned until 2010.
