Russia's Alfa Group has decided not to acquire assets belonging to Canada's High River Gold (HRG), which develops gold and silver fields in Russia, HRG said in an August 27 statement. HRG said the strategic investment agreement with Veromart Securities Inc., an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Alfa Group, has been terminated due to market conditions.
