Data on the effects of water soluble extracts of red marine algae—such as Grateloupia divaricate, Chondrus pinnulatus, Neorhodomela larix, and Tichocarpus crinitus—brown marine algae—such as Stepha-nocystis crassipes, Coccophora langsdorfii, Sphaerotrichia divaricata, Saccharina japonica, Sargassum pallidum, and Chorda filum—and green marine algae—such as Ulva fenestrata and Codium fragile—on root growth in soybean seedlings (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) have been presented. The stimulatory effectsof extracts containing T. crinitus, N. Larix, C. pinnulatus, and S. crassipes algae at low (10~4g/mL) and ultralow (10~i0— 10~(12) g/mL) concentrations are defined.
