Industrial production in Russia declined 12.1% in June 2009 compared to June 2008 following a drop of 17.1% in May and 16.9% in April, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said on July 15. Analysts from investment companies and banks polled by Interfax had said in a consensus forecast that industrial production would decline 12.5% in June. Industrial output grew 4.5% in June as compared to May. The June decline was the lowest seen this year. The smallest monthly contraction thus far was seen in February at 13.2%, while the biggest decline came in May at 17.1%.
