SUEK POSTS SALES REVENUE OF 4 BILLION dollars IN 2008

The coal and energy segments of Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) brought the company 4 billion dollars in sales revenue in 2008, SUEK deputy CEO Anna Belova told journalists on April 16. The company has not released its sales revenue figures for 2007, however the SUEK CEO predicted earlier that revenue would total 6 billion dollars in 2008. SUEK companies produced 96.2 million tonnes of coal in 2008 compared to 90.9 million tonnes in 2007, she said. SUEK supplied 67.5 million tonnes of coal to the domestic market in 2008 and exported 25.2 million tonnes.
