Ukraine's steel industry reduced finished roll output 30% year-on-year in January-August to 17.072 million tonnes, the Industrial Policy Ministry told Interfax. The industry cut roll output 34% year-on-year in January-July and in January-June, so the latest figures indicate that the severe decline in the industry is still slowing. Crude steel production plummeted 35% in the eight months to 18.944 million tonnes and pig iron fell 31% to 16.674 million tonnes.
