Smolensk's Kristall seeks to remain De Beers sightholder

Kristall of Smolensk, Russia's biggest producer of cut diamonds and the only one in the country that is a De Beers sightholder, has submitted a bid to renew this status, Kristall head Maxim Shkadov told Interfax. The results of the sightholder selection will be announced by mid-December. Contracts with sightholders are signed for a period of three years.
