Irkutsk Mining and Metals Co wins rights to iron-titanium ore field

LLC Irkutsk Mining and Metallurgical Company (IGMK) has now received the rights to the No. 6 Malo-Tagulskoye iron-titanium ore deposit in the Irkutsk region, positioning it to launch a major project to produced direct reduced iron (DR1) and, in time, steel. IGMK's affiliate, LLC Baikalskaya Mining and Metallurgical Company, won an auction for the exploration and mining rights to the deposit on March 1, Irkutskncdra, the Irkutsk region's branch of the Russian Federal Subsurface Resources Agency (Rosnedra), told Interfax.
