The attendance at this year's Caldbeck Fell field trip was small as the date clashed with the Harrogate Gem and Mineral Fair. This event had attracted a number of otherwise stalwart society members including local expert Mike Leppington. Nonetheless, there were four people booked the night before the trip and as everyone was relatively fit and the forecast set fair it was decided an exploration along the flank of Coombe Height toward Burdell Gill would be worthwhile.
