Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTPZ), flagship enterprise of the ChTPZ Group, closed Q1 2010 with net profit of 1.698 billion rubles to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS), compared with losses of 474.613 million rubles the same period of last year, the company said in materials. Earnings were up 4.6-fold from 370.644 million rubles in Q4 2009 as sales volume and the product mix changed, pushing the sales margin up to 28.4% from 26.9%. The stronger ruble also helped boost profit.
