Federal Court Compels OSHA to Issue Hexavalent Chromium Rule

Nine years after OSHA vowed to produce a new rule on hexavalent chromium (HC), the U.S.Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit ordered the agency to complete a final rule by Jan. 18, 2006. "This is a victory," declared Scott Nelson, an attorney for Public Citizen, a watchdog non-profit organization that filed two lawsuits to force OSHA to fulfill its rulemaking promise on HC.
