Complexes of gallium (III) with 2,3,4-trihydroxy-4'-fluorobenzene in the presence and absence of urotropin and diphenylguanidine were studied by spectrophotometry. The compositions of the complexes were studied and analytic spectrophotometric characteristics were obtained. The optimum conditions for complexation were established. A photometric method was developed for determining gallium (III) with a given reagent, and also with a third component present. This method is highly selective and can be used to detect Ga (III) in volcanic rocks.
