Technology of complex beneficiation of hard-to-work gold-containing sulfide ores

Features of the physical composition of gold-containing copper-zinc-pyrite sulfide ores are considered. It is recommended that interstage flotation or a cycle of gravity separation be introduced as a way of increasing recovery of the gold. Data on the application of the new flotation collectors, models S-703 and F-100 and the SIG series, both independently and in a mixture with xanthate are presented. Joint application of the reagent S-703 and of xanthate in a mass ratio 1:1 tends to increase recovery of gold in gold-sulfide concentrate by 3-5 percent, while xanthate and the reagent SIG produces an increase of up to 4 percent. It is shown that application of soda as a regulator of the medium exerts a more positive effect on gold flotation than does lime and sodium hydroxide, though at the same time extraction of pyrite in the gold-sulfide concentrate will then also increase.
