The problem of improving the beneficiation indices and the overall utilization of the difficult-to-beneficiate ores can be partially resolved by using the new flotation reagents and the optimal combination of these reagents.Previously performed studies have shown that in the flotation of baryte the maximal effect is achieved with the use of combinations of various fatty-acid collecting agents and barytol (1). The possibility of replacing the barytol with the higher technical alkyl sulfates, the flotation activity of which depends on their composition and their production technique, has also been shown. It has been found that the optimal content of the "unexpressed" alcohols in the initial bottom fractions of the higher fatty alcohols C_(10)- C_(18) should be 5-15 percent, and the optimal ratio of the mass fractions of the alkyl sulfates and the polyalkyl benzosulfates should be 1: (0.1 to 0.3).
