Sorption of Heavy Metal Ions by Natural Materials

Data on the purification by absorption of water media from heavy metals from sulfuric acid solutions using a natural material (irlite-1). The efficiency of absorption is shown for the purification of manufacturing wastewater from OAO Gran (Vladikavkaz). The results obtained for different pH values suggest that selective extraction of metal ions is possible until the maximum permissible concentrations or lower are reached using irlite-1 as a sorption material. The savings from preventing the damage to the environment are estimated.
