摘要

2-(2-Hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)-lH-benzimidazole ligand (HL) and its complexes with Cu(NO_3)_2, Zn(NO_3)_2 have been synthesized and characterized. The structures of the compounds were con?firmed on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic moment, FT-IR, ~1H- and ~(13)C NMR. Cu(II) complex has 1: 2 metal: ligand ratio, while Zn(II) complex is 1: 1. Crystal structure of 2-(2-hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)- lH-benzimidazolium chloride (HL · HC1) was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffrac?tion. It crystallizes in the orthorombic, space group P2_12_12_1and Z= 4.
