The structural features of mono-, di-, and polynuclear (n > = 3) pseudooctahedral oxomonoperoxo-molybdenum(VI) and oxomonoperoxotungsten(VI) complexes (or pseudooctahedral MO_5(O_2) moieties incorporated in iso- and heteropolyperoxoanions), in particular, the geometry of a MO(O_2) moiety and the structural manifestations of the trans influence (SMTI) of the multiple-bonded peroxo ligand in comparison with the SMTI of the oxo ligand, have been surveyed.
