Synthesis, Properties, and Structure of Poly nuclear Hydroxyethylidene-l,l-diphosphonatogermanates; Crystal and Molecular Structure of Two Complexes on the Basis of These Compounds

Compounds of poly nuclear hydroxyethylidene-l,l-dlphosphonatogennanates with nicotinic acid (I), nicotinamide (II), and magnesium (III) have been synthesized for the first time. Complexes I-III were studied by IR spectroscopy, chemical analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, and thermal analysis. The crystal structure of I and III was determined by X-ray crystallography. The structures of I and III are built by hexa-meric ring complex anions [Ge_6((mu -OH)_6(mu -L)_n(mu-HL)_(6-n))~(n-) (4 > = n > = 6 in I; n = 4 in III), where H_4L is 1 -hydroxyethylidene-1,1 -diphosphonic acid.
