The enthalpies of solution of neodymium(III) and erbium(III) succinates and malates in the system HC1 centre dot 100H_2O were determined and used to calculate the standard enthalpies of formation of these salts.The available information on the enthalpies of formation of complexes of rare-earth metals with di-carboxylic acids is contradictory and insufficient [1,2].Previously we determined [2] standard enthalpies of formation for lanthanum(III),samarium(III),and holmium(III) succinates.In the present work we have studied the thermodynamic properties of neo-dymium(III) and erbium(III) succinates and malates.
