The oxidation was performed of 2-(6,6-dimethylbicyclo[3.1.1]hept-2-ylmethylsulfanyl)ethanol II synthesized by adding 2-mercaptoethanol to (-)-|3-pinene in the presence of a Lewis acid. The sulfoxide obtained is present in two polymorphic structures with different physical properties, spectral characteristics, and fungicidal activity.
