摘要

Automated systems are making more data available to electric co-ops than ever before. And nothing brings home the value of that information like seeing it employed successfully, particularly during a training session. Recently, employees at TombigbeeElectric Cooperative in Guin, Ala., were receiving outage management system training from Steve Pascoe of Milsoft Utility Solutions (milsoft.com) when the live, real-time screen being used displayed an actual outage. Mark Garden, the co-op's manager of engineering, dispatched a line crew that found the remains of a squirrel and an open-fused cutout. Power was restored before the consumer even knew an outage had occurred.
