The interaction of shear bands with crystalline nanoparticles in amorphous—nanocrystalline Fe—Ni—B alloys is analyzed theoretically and experimentally. The following five interaction mechanisms are revealed: absorption, bypassing, cutting, retardation, and accommodation. The nanocrystal size is shown to be the key factor of this interaction. The experimental results obtained are satisfactorily described by the proposed theoretical models.
