摘要

Reactions of 2-(methylthio)benzo[cd]indol-1-inium iodide with C-nucleophiles proceed via substitution of methylthio group to afford new naphthostyryl derivatives. The latter were used in synthesis of the Hantzsch thiazoles. Structure of (Z)-2-{benzo[cd]indol-2(1H)-ylidene}-2-(4-phenylthiazol-2-yl)acetonitrile was studied by XRD.
