BALLERINAS VISIT FENTON HOUSE

The Society was delighted to welcome some special visitors to a retrospective exhibition by Graham Sergeant FRPS, which was held at Fenton House in July. The exhibition, titled The DqnceigSoes On, included prints from Graton's'Fellowship panel of photographs s taken 30 years ago of Elizabeth Twistington Higgins MBE, a classical ballet dancer who, at the height of her career was struck down by paralytic polio and confined to a wheelchair. Despite this, Elizabeth lived a full life, and mentored ballet students after she set up her own ballet company. The photographs were taken on Graham's Leica M4. He made the selection from over 5000 negatives, taken from 1975-1980, chronicling Elizabeth's extraordinary life.
