DPetroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti, Automatic Control, Computers and Electronics Department, 39 Bucuresti Blv., 100680, Ploiesti, Romania The paper presents the research and the results obtained by the authors concerning the advanced adjustment control of the hydrogen sulphide absorption process in the petroleum refinery. This study is structured on four parts. The first part represents an analysis of the actual control system of the absorption process in some refineries. The next two parts contain a detailed presentation of the relation between process model (steady state and dynamic regime) and conventional control systems. In the last part is modeled the advanced control system for the validation and trying of a proposed control system.
