Synopsis of species of the genus Metaphycus Mercet, 1917 of Mexico (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) with description of new species

Twenty one species of the genus Metaphycus Mercet, 1917 from the family Encyrtidae are recorded from Mexico as parasitoids of soft scale insects and whiteflies, including eight recently described species and a new species which is described here. Synopsis of the species, with data on their hosts, distribution, references and collected materials is given. An illustrated key for the identification of Mexican species is provided.
