Calculation of Shaft Reliability in Individual Belt Transmissions with Limited Statistical Information Regarding the Basic Parameters

A new approach is proposed for the calculation of shaft reliability in individual belt transmissions. In the mathematical model of its limiting state, the theory of possibilities is employed, in view of the incomplete statistical information regarding the shaft's basic parameters (the fatigue strength, the static strength, and the rigidity).
