Hankook Q1 profit surges 501%

Hankook Tire has posted impressive results in the first quarter of 2010. The company's sales increased 17.6 % year-on-year to 1.3 trillion won (￡780.4 million) and operating profit jumped 501.2% to 212.2 billion won (￡124.1 million). The tyre maker's operating profit to sales ratio was 15.9%, up from 12.6% in the fourth quarter of 2009.
