Shift to solid forms hits NR latex output

There was considerable drop in NR latex production in H1 2015, driven by factors like persistent drop in prices compared to the dry forms of NR, lower margin for latex over solid forms and a shift in producers' processing preferences to the latter due to the relatively higher labour resource intensity needed to process it. While major producers in Asia registered a marginal decline, Thailand was the only country to report a marginal increase by 1.3% to 332,000 tonnes during the period.
