China close to 2013 growth target

China's economy grew 7.7% in the first nine months of 2013, putting it on track to achieve Beijing's 2013 growth target of 7.5%. The targeted 7.5% growth would still be China's worst performance in 23 years. China's GDP grew at its quickest pace in the third quarter of 2013 at 7.8% from a year earlier.
